Manning Counting on the Fans

With the Broncos earning the AFC’s No. 1 seed, the road to New Orleans runs through Denver.
That means the more than 75,000 fans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High will make their presence felt when the Ravens come to town for Saturday’s Divisional Round matchup.
“The old adage is ‘There’s no place like home,’ and I think that’s true,” Head Coach John Fox said. “Our fans are great. They’ve been great all season. I think that’s affected our record. It does bring the emotion to the guys and I expect it’ll be a pretty emotional place Saturday.”
The Broncos are 7-1 at home in 2012, with the lone loss coming more than three months ago in Week 3.
Quarterback Peyton Manning knows what it is like for a visiting team to play a game in Denver. He played four games against the Broncos in the Mile High City during his career with the Colts.

“Having played here as an opponent a number of years, the Denver Broncos have loud fans and excellent fans,” Manning said. “I know they’re going to play a big role on Saturday.”
As the team has increased its intensity during practice this week in preparation for its postseason opener, Manning is counting on the fans to do the same.
“Our fans have been great for us all season,” Manning said. “I know they’ll be excited. We’re going to need to them to be as loud as they possibly can on Saturday. I know they will be.”
